1 - THE PROGRAM
-----------------------------------------------------------------

ATLANTIC 2.0 is a Structural Engineering tool for static 
analysis and design of steel framed 3D structures.
User friendly. Complete graphical user interface: interactive generation of nodes,
beams, restraints, releases and materials, 
estrusion, mirror, rotation, nodes and beams drag, 3D or wire-frame rappresentation,
merge of different structures. Internal database for structural shapes.
Nodal loads,trapezoidal beam loads, termal loads, nodal settlements.
Possibility of loading a model with the reactions of another model.
All output results are shown on the screen and/or
printed: moment, shear and axial load diagrams, displaced structure,
support reactions in vector form. Diagrams for loading, combinations,
envelopped combinations. Maximum and minimum for stresses, displacements,
reactions. Selection of part of a structure.
S-beam for check of several beams as a unique beam.
Verifications according to AISC-ASD code. 

2 - SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
------------------------------------------------------------------

Operating system DOS 5.0 or later,
(or Windows 3.1x, 95/98 or OS/2),
processor  80386 or higher, 8 Mb RAM, VGA, mouse,
10 Mb of free space on disk at least.

The program runs in  DOS-Extender 16-bit mode.

This software is Shareware. 
This is a Unregistered Version of ATLANTIC 2.0. You can freely test it and 
redistribute. Please read carefully the LICENSE.TXT file.

It is fully working, with the following limitation only:
you can solve structures with no more than 10 nodes.
You can create larger models, but you cannot compute them, examine results
and make verification according to AISC-ASD.

If you register, you will get a license file that will unlock your program.

3 - INSTALLATION
------------------------------------------------------------------

Installation is very easy:  just create a directory ( ATLANTIC, for example)
copy the compressed file in it and extract all files. That's all.


4 - RUNNING THE PROGRAMS
------------------------------------------------------------------

For running codes you must oparate in DOS environment
or in a DOS window of WINDOWS 3.1x, 95 or OS2.

You can use shell-program or run directly the various modules.

Command are ( if the directory program is ATLANTIC):
a) Using shell-program:

c:\atlantic>     menu

b) Running the single programs:

c:\atlantic>     atlapre       ( Pre-Processor )
c:\atlantic>     atlasol       ( Solver )
c:\atlantic>     atlapost      ( Post-Processor  )
c:\atlantic>     combine       ( COMBINATOR - working stress )



NOTE:
ATLANTIC cannot run without mathematical coprocessor.
