Subject: Problem with SB201

Hi everyone,

I tried the SB201 first thing when I got home yesterday hoping
it would solve the SB compatibility with Under a Killing Moon.
I followed exactly the direction given in SB201.txt. Unfortunately,
the system hang when I run SB201 with emm386 running with expanded
memory or not running emm386 at all. Then I tried to run SB201
with emm386 without expanded memory then the emm386 gave an #12
error indicating the application is doing something wrong at
address 0A0D:11E9 and halted my system.

I have a ViVa Maestro 16 VR with the old SC18053 rom.

If anyone has a solution to this problem, please let me know.

Thanks.

Wilkie

Dear fellow Arians,

With thanks to Max Cohan and Sierra Semiconductor Corporation I can hereby
announce the availability of the system software needed to update soundcards
based on the first generation of the Aria chipset. So all those people who
have not been able to use SB201 and were stuck with SB199 can now download
SB201.EXE from the upgrades directory! Please let me know if it works to
your satisfaction. Furthermore, in the upgrades directory you'll also find
qsva25.dsp and reverb.dsp, the DSP applications incorporated in the second
generation of the Aria chipset. You'll be amazed how much depth reverb.dsp
adds to your MIDI music! I'll follow up with instructions on how to use these
DSP applications in Windows. Enjoy!

Daniel
