I' think a kword is 2 kbytes. Using words in programming they occupy 2 bytes 
(16 bits).
Why it is measured in kwords instead of kbytes I have really no idea.
After I've read this message I think the chips on the aria-card are indeed 
just normal cache chips (also static ram). As said before there are at this 
moment on my card with 8 kwords(=16 kbytes) 2 ram chips on the board (9250   
6264A-20NC) they are 20 ns and each chip is 8k*8.
To get another 32 kwords you (and Myself too) will probably need two 32k*8 
chips (something with 3256-20 on the chip)
Cristopher said he had been using 32k*8 and had only 16 Kwords.
Did you replace the old chips ore were you using the old chips and the new ones.
Maybe someone with 40 kwords could check this on his aria-card.
These chips are around 13 DM each.
I wonder if I can use even more memory or if 40 kwords is the max.

I don't know if they will work with 16 kwords, all I know is that 8kwords 
isn't enough.
I'll have a look if I have some cache chips somewhere and I'll try it out 
(soon?)
