ARCHIVE DESCRIPTION

The materials contained within this archive constitute a digital audio

programming example for soundcards based on the Aria chipset of Sierra

Semiconductor Corporation. To compile and execute the included source files

the use of DJGPP, the GNU C/C++ programming environment for MS-DOS, is

required. This has been tested using DJGPP v1.12.2 which can be retrieved

from oak.oakland.edu:/pub/msdos/djgpp. AriaWave will load the .wav file

specified on the command line or by default test.wav if no arguments were

indicated. It will then play the file and continue to repeat until the user

presses a key. Attempting to play a file larger than the available physical

memory will result in the computer hanging. See the file revision.lst for a

description of all the revisions of this archive which of course includes the

latest changes to it.
