TITLE: Port Set Incorrectly For a Network Printer
PRODUCT: WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS

Problem
Your document fails to print when you send it to the network
printer.

Concept
When you use a network printer, your computer sends print
information through a cable at the back of your computer to the
network. The location where the cable connects to your computer
is called a port. You must select the correct network and
printer port in WordPerfect.

Note: The 05/31/91 Install program prompts Is this a Network
Printer? if you have installed WordPerfect on a network other
than Novell. You are able to set up a network printer from
Install without having to edit the port later.

Solution
Select the correct network printer port.

For WordPerfect 5.0 or 5.1 on a Novell network version 2.15 or
above,

1 Choose O for Other.

2 Type PRINTQ_0 for a Novell network.

            or

Type SERVER/PRINTQ_0 for an attached named file server.

For WordPerfect 4.2, WordPerfect 5.0 before 11/15/88, or a Novell
version before 2.15,

1 Choose O for Other.

2 Type the device number (0-4).

For non-Novell network users,

1 Set the port to LPT1 or LPT2 for the network to capture the
      port.

2 Start WordPerfect.

3 Press Print (Shift+F7), then choose Select (S).

4 Edit the port, then answer Yes when prompted Is this a
      Network Printer?.
